The Peter Creese lighthouse race will now take place on Wed the 16th of December at 9am, This is due to the unfortunate weather on Sun, Oddly enough this race which has been running since 1962 and makes it one of the oldest surfski races in the world had until today had never been canceled.
The course every year remains the same and is an out and back from Fish Hoek SLSC around Roman Rock lighthouse(10km). It was originaly just the Lighthouse Race but after the passing away of Peter Creese, a two time Cape Point Challenge winner and South African Lifesaving captain it was renamed the Peter Creese Lighthouse race in his memory with a stunning wooden trophy to go with it. Since then the trophy is already covered in the names of many South African surfski greats.

We will also be doing a Cape Point questions and answers workshop at 11am where you can ask past winners anything you need or want to know about the race.....great chance to pick there brains before the big event.

I have attatched 2 pictures of Peter, one of the cartoon of him which hangs in the FSLSC foyer and one of him being congratulated by Oscar after winning an Ironman race.
