Well this morning we had to get uo very early and it was cold. We started our race at 830 but our warm up process takes an hour and 15 min, so it was cold...

We got to the start and the starter said, "start within 10 seconds" and then all of a sudden there was a false start so we went but hit the cone in front and bounced back. Mich and Carol got bumped back hard but Jen and I just carried on .... as we looked up we were a boat length behind... So we put our heads down and went for it. We caught up to the Canadians on our left at about the 200m, we were feeling strong and just went straight past them catching all the time... at the finish the boat was rocking all over the place because we were so tired, but we ended up 3rd which puts us in the A final today at 2pm... YAY!

SO more race report to follow later...

Well the A-final! We were in lane 9, there was a bit of wind and it was cold ... again.

We had a great start and came out with the rest of the pack. Our first 30 strokes were at a very high intensity and then we lengthened out to the 200m mark. Jen called a hup and we tried to put in more power, but there wasnt a lot left in the tank... We pushed super hard all the way to the finish and gave it our all...ending up 9th. We have a few improvements still to make but we are in the game now and know were our weakness' are.

Back to Budapest on Monday to train up for the Poznan World cup in 2 weeks time.
